Last year, we made the decision to breed only to our Elite/Preferent stallion, Aswyn van de Pluum. We did this primarily because he will turn 27 years old in May '08 and while he is doing absolutely fantastic, the reality is that he's the oldest living Friesian on the books right now and we know he will not grace our ranch forever (no matter how much we pray!) Therefore, it is important that he live his later years happy and doing what he loves most and does best: BREEDING!
For 2009, we have five foals that we are eagerly expecting!
One of our 2009 foals is by our Preferent/Elite elder stallion, Aswyn van de Pluum and his gorgeous mare, Rozalinda. At 27 years old, Aswyn is in excellent health and still remains a viable breeding stallion. As many of you may know, Aswyn is the oldest living Friesian right now and we feel so honored to have him with us each and every day! I ride him 3-4 times a week which he just loves and he is still so sound and full of energy that there are times when he feels like he could run away with me if we wanted to! For an old man, he is truly amazing and I love him so very much!
We are excitedly awaiting the delivery in early February by Zabrina. She is doing very well and we can't wait for the little one to arrive! She is bred to Aswyn's son, our World Champion, Wyn de Pluum. The two have paired in the past very successfully producing Tzara de Pluum WEF, the 2007 FPZV “Yearling Filly Champion” – 8.00 – 1st Premium, so and we await this little one with great anticipation! :-)
This was the first year that we have had Wyn home with us for breeding season and it was just wonderful to see what a kind, gentle breeding stallion he has become. He is a joy to handle. Always taking time to nuzzle and kiss away any nervousness his mares may have. He is very much the gentleman when breeding and just an all around lovable guy! He is and will always be first in my heart as my first Friesian.
The two 2009 foals by Aswyn van de Pluum & Rozalinda and Wyn de Pluum & Zabrina will be available for sale. Also available are a few of our wonderful soon to be 3 year olds, 2 year olds and yearlings...
At Wyning Edge, we believe it is very important that our foals are interacted with on a daily basis so that they learn and understand the role of the human being in their lives early on. Our foals are handled, groomed and given love and affection every single day on the ranch. From experience, we know that a well-mannered and respectful foal grows into a well-mannered, safe and respectful mature horse.
As our yearlings mature, they embark on a slow, but extensive training schedule of the vitally important fundamentals of proper ground work which will lead to their eventual introduction to the saddle.
From this point, our Friesians are schooled in dressage, trail, long-lining, cavaletti & jumping.
The versatility of the Friesian horse is amazing and is limited only by your imagination!

Cira, as we call her, is beautiful little filly with tons of pizzazz! Her flying changes at 3 days old were a vision to behold and she has only gone on to impress us even more with her adorable high knee action, bold movement and overall wonderful athleticism.
Cira adores people, nickering to them for rubs and will not hesitate to present her cute little patootie for scratching! She seemed to immediately understand why humans were put on this earth and all the glorious things we could do for her!
In short, she is what we all desire, a loving partner equal to our devotion...

2007 FPZV - 2nd Premium Stallion
Tzaro is a fabulous young stallion and the first colt produced by his USDF & IFSHA Grand Champion sire, Wyn de Pluum v.V. His sire's influence is evident in his conformation, attitude and incredible movement. He is turning two years old, and as he matures, he is growing into one of the most handsome of young stallions.
He is tall, bold and athletic making him a very nice candidate for the FPZV SPT. He has mastered most of his in-hand work, so now, as his training progresses, he is moving into the cavaletti, ground-driving and riding preparations. Tzaro also ties, trailer loads & rides comfortably, clips and stands quietly for the farrier (at least most of the time! Boys! HA!)
Tzaro is maturing very nicely and we are very proud of him! His current conformation is tall/lighter/leaner...perfect for sporthorse/dressage competition.
